Love Bonded

		for Wanda

We reach out to each other to
share this grief, wedded love the
bridge. Hugs, tears,
a hand to hold. (Can our
love endure?)
But words don't exist to
express this, this lost daughter,
this lost beauty. Mere words fail
when the soul is overrun by pain.
We are left with the tender caress
of hands on face, wiping holy tears
from God-seeking eyes. I can't
bring you into my soul, nor you me
into yours. Your singular grief
remains your own; my grief is mine alone.
Understanding, our love, just as this grief,
will last forever.
